Return Policy — (Michelle's Dresses)
Simple. Fair. Made for busy teens (and their parents).
Summary: If you’re not happy with your dress, return it within 30 days for a full refund or exchange. Returns are easy, free for most orders, and processed quickly.
Who can return
- Any customer who bought from our store (online orders and in-store purchases — see the in-store note below).
- Gifts: gift recipients can return items for a refund to the original payment method or store credit.
Timeframe
- Standard returns: within 30 days of delivery or purchase date.
- Exchanges: same 30-day window.
- Items marked “Final Sale” cannot be returned — we’ll call these out clearly on the product page.
Condition required
Please return items in:
- Unworn, unwashed condition
- All original tags attached
- Built-in shorts/linings intact (if applicable)
- No odors, stains, or signs of wear
If an item arrives damaged or defective, please contact us right away — we’ll take care of it at no cost to you.
What you can get
- Refund to your original payment method (usually within 7 business days after we receive the return)
- Or exchange for a different size/color (we’ll ship the new item as soon as your return is received)
- Or store credit (valid for 12 months)
Return shipping & cost
- Free returns: We provide a pre-paid return label for all domestic online orders.
- International returns: return shipping may apply — contact support for options.
- Damaged/defective items: return shipping is free and we’ll cover replacement or refund.
How to return — 3 easy steps
- Start your return
- Visit our Returns Portal at michellesdresses/returns OR email support at support@michellesdresses.com with your order number.
- Pack it up
- Put the dress back in its original packaging if possible, include the packing slip or order number, and make sure the item meets the condition requirements.
- Ship it
- Print and attach the pre-paid label we email you (domestic). Drop the package at the carrier location. Keep your tracking number.
Tip: For exchanges, select the new size/color in the portal so we know what to send once we receive your return.
Refund timeline
- We’ll email you when we receive your return.
- Refunds to the original payment method are typically processed within 3–7 business days after we inspect the return.
- Store credit is issued immediately after inspection.
In-store purchases
- Bring your receipt and the item within 30 days.
- If you bought online but want to return in-store, present your order number and valid ID.
Damaged or incorrect items
If your dress arrives damaged, defective, or not what you ordered:
- Contact support within 7 days of delivery at support@michellesdresses.com or use the Returns Portal.
- We’ll arrange a free return and send a replacement or refund — whichever you prefer.
Exchanges for size/style
- If the new item costs more, you’ll pay the difference at checkout.
- If the new item costs less, we’ll refund the difference.

Q: Do I need to wash the dress before returning?
A: No — please return it unworn and unwashed.
Q: My order is older than 30 days. Can I still return?
A: We’re sorry — we can’t accept standard returns after 30 days. Contact support and we’ll see if we can help.
Q: Can I return sale items?
A: Most sale items are returnable unless listed as “Final Sale.” Sale returns follow the same 30-day rule.
Q: I lost my return label — what now?
A: Email support with your order number and we’ll re-send it.
